The four main points Michael Rappa made about search are:

1. There is now a huge amount of data we can now access.

2. The extremely quick change from a very limited amount of data we could access to huge amounts of data we can now access.

3. The navigation of the internet and how this led to the use of web directories and search engines vital making it a big business to get involved with.

It has now led to Google dominating the market due to their superior search engine, giving them plenty of revenue from adds on searches which has led them to expanding business massively.

4. The difficulty of finding specific sites and companies, especially when we search for a niche subject. This is highlighted greatly when we look at small businesses that have a limited internet footprint, like just a facebook page or a page on True Blue which basically has the bare essentials of the business. The function, phone number and maybe email address.
